  twas the night before the night before the night before tenet...
  Katie spotted me in the living room of 804 Lawrence on October 21st, a Tuesday. My head was in my hands... an email invitation I sent out for the Tenet Progressive marching band was responded to enthusiastically, but in a functional sense was largely ignored, most others writing off singing confusing words into town as less important than writing specific words into grades. Katie was going to hang out with Matt that night but decided that instead they could join the marching band. Then Zach Koloziej showed up with a bucket, and with him came the feeling that we could really do this! And then Karl walked in, who actually plays the drums! We marched for not too long but decided to bring my trusty cassette recorder. We actually met the man named J.P. Couling on that walk and it is recorded within the album (who states "I'm just starting to play the saxophone" on recording). Kind of magic considering how our lives intertwined this last year - Currently Zach and I are curing his tobacco leaves in our attic, and Karl plays in his really wild group, Tear Soup. Was a magical night and all my years interning at the pacific rim drum corpus finally paid off!
